Hi Paula

We had a ball at Oktoberfest! I think any Oktoberfest anywhere in the world would be fun. When we were in Hannover, there were a lot of festivals on at different times of the year and they were always a lot of fun. I hope you get to experience Oktoberfest in Brisbane AND in Munich. Now that would be fun!

Prost!!

Hi Kevin

I would recommend calling or emailing the Mercedes Benz Kundencenter direct. According to their website the person to speak to is Susanne Loose. Her number is 0421 4192254 (to call internationally, try 00 49 for Germany and then drop the first '0' off her phone number, i.e. 00 49 421 4192254). Her email address is susanne.loose (at) daimler.com

It says on their website that they offer customised tours for groups of 15 people (time required approximately 2 hours). Monday to Friday around 9.00am and again around 3pm, with a written agreement. The maximum group size is 25 people, however, double groups (maximum 50 people) are available on request. The tours are available in German or English.

It also asks to please sign up in plenty of time.

If your group is smaller, they also have these tours available -

Monday - Friday
9.30am - Body shop and final assembly
9.45am - Body shop and final assembly (English)
10.00am - Final assembly
10.30am - Final assembly
11.30am - Body shop and final assembly
12.15pm - Body shop and final assembly
1.00pm - Final assembly
2.00pm - Body shop and final assembly
2.45pm - Final assembly

You would need to ask if these tours are in German or English. For safety reasons, children under 3 years are not permitted to take the tour and children between 3 to 16 years must be accompanied by their parents. There are no tours over the weekend or on public holidays.

Their website also mentions that you can also contact the Bremen Tourist Bureau to arrange an afternoon tour on Thursday or Friday which includes pick up in downtown Bremen, lunch and a drink. To book, phone 0180 5 101030 (0,14 €/min) or (0,14 € / min) 101 030 0180 5.

I would personally contact the Kundencenter direct. We were told by the tourist bureau that their tours were only in German and there was a charge for their tours. We booked an English tour directly with the Kundencenter and it was free.

The Mercedes Benz Kundencenter website is http://www.mercedes-benz.de/content/germany/mpc/mpc_germany_website/de/home_mpc/passengercars/home/passengercars_world/visit_mercedes_benz/bremen/offering.html. To find the factory tour information, look for the tabs under Unser Angebot and click on Werkbesichtigung. It's in German but translates well in Google Translate.

Have a great time!

A group of us are flying to Bremen on Thursday night (late) and wondered about doing the tour on Friday. Do you know where or who I could phone to try to book it before we fly from the UK /

Thanks,

Hi Kate,

Oktoberfest in Brisbane sounds just as fun as the one I went to in the Exhibition Park in Canberra, Australia one year. There was alot of beer-drinkin', knee-slappin' and yahooin'!

Loved every minute of it. It was a VERY entertaining day. Here's hoping I get to go to the Brisbane Oktoberfest one year!

Cheers (or should I say 'Brost!'),
Paula

Hi Diana

That sounds like a plan!

I hope you do get to travel back to Paris. It's one of my favourite cities in the world and seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night time is just amazing.

Hey Kathryn,

Thanks for the wonderful tour of one of my favorite cities on the planet. I haven't been there since the late 70's, so your descriptions include a few places and structures that weren't there when I was. I have simply got to convince my husband that this is a trip we really have to take. Maybe I'll leave this page open on the desktop . . .

Regards,
